mR. rYAN lYNCH

Also Starring:

St. Louis saw the return of The Voidhead Himself....the Fuckboi....and, now, The Stardaddy,Mr. Justin Symbol is back in the spotlight, solo once again, and returning to...himself. The Stardaddy has re-joined forces with guitarist/songwriter Ryan Lynch, as they collaborate on Symbol's next solo LP,now titled Candyman, and set for an October release. If the new material they showcased on stage is any indication of what is to come, then the creative juices and influences that helped shape Symbol's debut LP,Voidhead, which is felt to be an Industrial Rock masterpieceare, indeed flowing at full steam. The new material penned by The Stardaddy and Lynch is very reminiscent of the material on his debut opus, yet, one sometimes finds that to go forward, one must go back.Musically, that is what seems to have happened to Symbol of late. And, truly, there is no one better to turn to at this time than guitarist Lynch, who not only understands Stardaddy, but enhances the material with his own touch and style.Together, they form a truly formidable songcrafting team.

Playing songs from his past releases, from Voidhead,Fuckboi as well as tracks from his latest release,Stardaddy:Symbol Season-Volume One (s/r)

Known for his own eclectic tastes in music,Mr. Symbol has brought with him three acts who truly fit in with his diverse tastes. The show also starred L.A. Gender-Bending Industrial Rap Artist Angel Nightmare, who has recently released his first solo album,Surreal (s/r). On the Industrial Metal end of the spectrum comes San Antonio,Texas' Requiem Rust, who has just released their debut LP,Hush (s/r). ( Look for reviews of both albums soon to come here on Rock and Roll Infinity.)

With his patented growl,Symbol took the stage with Lynch as well as D.J. Swamp and delivered a blistering set.A fantastic performance from a true musical chameleon...an artist with 1,000 colors....The Stardaddy is really both of these.

Known best for his work with the act Midnight Nightmare, lead vocalist/industrial rapper Angel Nightmare has released his debut solo Lp,Surreal (s/r) The 27 year old gender-bending as well as genre blending artist  wrote, produced performed and recorded the album himself. Bringing a riotous performance of tracks like "Dark Fashion" and "Broken Teeth" showcased Nightmare in a flattering light. A raw performance that expelled leagues of emotion. Look for our upcoming interview with Angel coming soon.

Touring in support of their first full-length album,Rust (s/r),the four Personalities that make up Requiem Rust are as unique as their music. This is not your average Industrial Metal. Rust combines elements from almost every sub-genre of rock, and to simply label this band as 'Industrial Metal' would be to sell them short, indeed.

Live, this band rages forth from the platform ina dark, alomst eerie manner. If you end up just a tad bit frightened, like at a good horror flick, then you have become a slave to the band's vibe and sound. This is one of few new bands who offer, what we call, the "Total Package"....great souns, (talent),a wonderfully dark aesthetic, and the energy and show that lives up to the standard that this band has obviously laid down for themselves. ...a stellar performance, indeed. Look for our in-depth review of Hush coming very soon!

OPENING THE EVENTS OF THE EVENING WAS VOCALIST/SONGWRITER bUDDY dANGER. aND WHILE dANGER HAS YET TO ENTER THE STUDIO AND LAY DOWN TRACKS FOR A SINGLE OR ep,HE JUST MAY BE A NAME TO WATCH FOR ALONG THE MUSICAL HORIZON OF THOSE TO COME....AND, ON A PERSONAL NOT, gOOD lUCK ON YOUR UP-COMING WEDDING,WHICH IS TO BE HELD,IN TRUE PUNK ROCK FASHION,IN THE PARKING LOT OF ONE OF DANGER'S FAVORITE SHOW VENUES IN CALIFORNIA.

With plans for justin symbol join Psyclon Nine  on the road on their upcomung U/S jaunt, we are hoping for a st. louis date. Stay tuned.

A great show at a very cool venue!
