In 1990,Jane Child decided she did not want to fall in love, releasing the single "Dont Want To Fall In Love" as her debut single. It was a smash hit on both the Billboard and the R&B charts,( (Number 2 and Number 6,respecively.) But, as they say, the show doesn't last very long. A second mild hit, "Welcome To The Real World" followed up,but, that was the end of her flame.

With one of the biggest tracks of the 1990's, the now 56 year old singer/composer/multi-instrumentalist and producer,is one of a rare breed. Child demanded to play every instrument on the album, aside from the guitar parts. Her wish was granted. On a budget of basically nothing, she would bus her way to the studio and do all the parts herself,Keys, Bass, Percussion, all the vocals, everything sans the guitars.

From that budget of basically nothing, and Child's determination and obvious talent, came an album who's first single ended up at the number 2 on the Billboard chart,as well as number 6 on the R&B Charts as well. The self titled debut platter was deep, poppy,+and just odd enough to find tt's way into the odd-loving public, and ....I mean, Child's hair was enough.Spiked brades on top, then foot-length braid, and then there was the nose ring connected to her earring. Visually, she was punk  and and talented enough to play every note herself, write every note, and produce the album herself, amid dissention from Warner Bros. Records. The result was a space age-times sound with an etheral feel, accompanied witha certain rock elements, asin structure. Her big hit, "Don't Want To  Fall In Love" made it to number 2 on the Billboard Chart straightaway.A cross-over hit onto the R&B Chart, where it peaked at number 6 Released in 1989,she took on the title the "Female Prince',because of her demanding ways to di it her way,or no wasy at all.Huge in clubs, and on the radio,it's follow up lp, "Here,Not There" just didn't have the finesse of her debut, and with changing  musical styles coming it play, her sound fell  on deaf ears, and she was dropped from her label. She was not to have another hit in mainstream, but Child still recrds, mainly for the "JUST DANCE" Franchise. As of press date ,she is 56 years old.She has also recorded her version of Tina Turner's " We Don't Need Another Hero" for the Turner Tribute album.
She has been married to Cat Gray for a long duration.Gray is the chief musician on " Let's Make A Deal" since 2004
She no longer performs or makes or records her own music for commercial release. She still writes songs, and, who knows, maybe we'll see a new track by her coming down the slide sometime soon.

" KISS  THE  RAIN  "

1990 debut album from the UK based singer/songwriter who at least co-wrote or wrote every song on the album, entitled "Growing Pains" The album went straight to Gold status, mainly because of the enormity of the success of it's first single, "Kiss The Rain"Sadly, the success of the well-worded ballad left a high bar to write the next "Kiss The Rain" number 2. But it was not to happen. As fleeting as fame comes, so it shall leave. Her last album "Vertigo" was released on her  own label. In 2005,November,,Myers released a single entitled "Just Sex",which landed her the closing spot for Pride 2006,as well as a featured act at NYC Pride. In 2013,she threw the fans a bone, and gave them "Tea and Symphony"her third release, and most recent recording. We haven't heard anything new from Myers for quite a while.Anyone know what she is up to?
